Dursley Lions Club - District 105W

Dursley Lioness Club

Dursley Lioness Club is part of Lions Clubs International but Lioness Clubs in England have their own national chairman and operate under their own rules while still fitting in with the Lions constitution.   Dursley Lioness Club has 16 members who aim to have fun and enjoy friendship while serving the needs of their local community and the wider world.

Recent activities have ranged from giving cuddly cubs to the local ambulance station to comfort children in distress, raising money for a hospice catering for teenage cancer sufferers, presenting equipment to the childrens ward of a hospital, and donating a defibrillator to a community medical practice.

Lionesses Su Wagner and Lesley Guy make friends with Dolly the cow.  Where Dolly dropped her "dollop" decided who won the ?100 cash prize in the competition to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Annually the Lionesses organise sales of donated and own-grown plants and are well known for their Christmas hamper raffle, the proceeds of which go to local charities.

Lionesses raised money for charity with their successful hamper raffle at Christmas.

If you are interested in joining the Lionesses, the club meets formally on the first Wednesday in the month at the Lion's Den in May Lane, Dursley, opposite the library, and informally usually on the third Wednesday at 8pm.
